Rura is a 4 piece band combining the passions and influences of some of Scotland’s most exciting young trad musicians. With a graduate from the BA applied music at Strathclyde and three students currently studying at the RSAMD, including two BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year finalists and an all ireland bodhran champion the quartet achieves an energetic but professional sound. The line up features highland pipes and whistles, fiddle, guitar, bodhran and flute aswell as an array of effects pedals used sparingly, the ensemble results in a powerful sound which is yielded intelligently.
