Hotel Palindrone …. A very unique Austrian sensation

No … HOTEL PALINDRONE is not somewhere to spend the night in Austria, but the winners of numerous music awards in the last 15 years. They will perform in Scotland for the very first time!

It’s impossible to fit their music into any single genre rather they play with European traditions with a spotlight on their own alpine traditional heritage. An important part of this are several bagpipes like “Bock and Sackpfeife”. Quirky, full of life and in recent years receiving a truly international reputation. Invitations to festivals in England (WOMAD), Italy, Mexico, Switzerland and Borneo reinforce this great reputation!

In essence you have four musicians from varied backgrounds, bringing to the table a rich palate of flavours, colours and sounds. They play a bewildering range of instruments but all married to the unique sound, that is Hotel Palindrone. Whether it’s the vibrant tone of bagpipes fencing with saxophone, the deep tones of electric bass interweaving with Fiddle, Mandola and Nyckelharpa, or the shimmering sounds of Accordion diatonique vying for attention with Mautrommel (Jews Harp) and clarinet all topped off with vocals and of course yodelling like you‘ve never heard before!

Stephan Steiner – 5-string fiddle, nyckelharpa, hurdy-gurdy, diatonic accordion, vocals
