Angus MacColl hails from Benderloch near Oban. He comes from an illustrious piping familyand is the Great Grand Nephew of the legendary John MacColl. Angus has a tremendous track record in competitive piping. In 1992 he won the Gold Medal at Inverness and in 1996 he won the Gold Medal at Oban. The year 2000 was a memorable year for Angus who won the Senior Piobaireachd at Oban and also the Clasp at Inverness for the third time. In addition to the aforementioned Piobaireachd prizes Angus has won all the major light music prizes. He excels as an entertainer and is constantly in demand at the recitals throughout the country. Angus won the Glenfiddich Championships three times (1995, 2006, 2010).
